DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 4 (Four): (1) E. Ingraham & Co., Bristol, Conn., "Doric" shelf clock with a spring driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1880; (2) E. Ingraham & Co., Bristol, Conn., "Octagon Doric Mosaic" shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1880. (3) E. N. Welch Mfg. Co., Forestville, Conn., unidentified model shelf clock with a spring driven 30 hour time, strike and alarm movement in an oak case, c1860. (4) Noah Pomeroy, Bristol, Conn., unidentified model shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1870.
CONDITION:
(1) The case finish is original. There is veneer loss on both right and left base returns. The original paper dial has aged. The hands are correct. Both door glasses are original (2) The case has original finish and is in nice condition. The paper dial is in good condition. The hands may be replacements. The upper and lower door glasses are original with some restoration to the lower glass. (3) This clock, though unidentified, is pictured on page 498 of Tran Duy Ly's Book on Welch Clocks. The case has a very light finish and has one small area of damage on the top molding. Overall the case is in very nice condition. The painted dial is in very good condition with very little loss. The hands are original. (4) The case is in excellent condition with a light finish remaining. The paper dial shows some age. The hands are period and may be correct. The door glasses are both original. The movement is signed.
